M. Daniel Roukema leads MDR Public Affairs and is responsible for overseeing all corporate functions.  He has worked with not-for-profit organizations, the private sector, and various governments for almost 25 years, acquiring an expertise in corporate communications, government relations, and public and stakeholder engagement.

Daniel led the communications departments at the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council, the Condominium Authority of Ontario and the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario, where he oversaw the execution of strategic communications department workflows and processes to improve reputation, efficiencies, and transparency.  He was also the manager of communications and government relations at that National Student Loans Services Centre, and spent a number of years prior to that working with governments and not-for-profit organizations leading significant stakeholder engagement processes that impacted public policy in the areas of the environment, economic development, immigration, and public health.


Deeply committed to volunteerism, Daniel served on the boards of Child Find Canada, Child Find Nova Scotia, and the Social Planning Council of Ottawa.  He was most recently a director on the boards of the Halton Multicultural Council and Community Development Halton.  In 2003, Daniel was nominated for Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Business Magazine, and in 2016 received the Consumer Protection Award from the U.S.-based Council on Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation (CLEAR) for his work in developing and marketing worldwide campaigns to protect immigrants to Canada.  Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Dalhousie University, a post-graduate certificate in European Union External Relations from l'université libre de bruxelles in Belgium, and pursued an M.S. in Community Economic Development at Southern New Hampshire University.
